JBL Names Non-WWE Show As One Of The Best He’s Ever Seen

John Bradshaw Layfield, also known as JBL, a WWE Hall of Fame inductee may be famously associated with the huge spectacle of Sports Entertainment. However, he recently shifted his focus to a contrasting event that managed to captivate him.

In a latest segment of the podcast “Something to Wrestle”, JBL couldn’t help but express his admiration for the AAA Rey de Reyes event that was staged in March of 2025. He enthused,

“That was one of the best shows that I’ve ever seen, not just in wrestling, across the board. The final match between Del Rio and Hijo del Vikingo was extraordinary. I regard it one of the finest that I’ve witnessed this year, this decade even. It was truly magnificent. They orchestrated a lot of run-ins and unconventional moments that might bewilder some American wrestling enthusiasts, but I felt everything was justifiable.”

This particular event led to Alberto El Patron, also known as ‘The Patron’, successfully defending the AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo Vikingo, in no small part due to JBL’s assistance.

In the midst of the turbulent action, JBL cleverly executed a low blow followed by a lethal Clothesline from Hell to Latin Lover, enabling El Patron to clinch the victory and hold onto his esteemed title.
