During the March 26th episode of AEW Dynamite, professional wrestler “Switchblade” Jay White officially announced his participation in this year’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
Following a defeat in last year’s semifinals, White is determined, more than ever, to claim this year’s Owen Hart Cup. Additionally, he sees the win as a stepping stone towards a title challenge for AEW All In: Texas in hope of acquiring the AEW World Championship.
Other entrants previously declared for the tournament include Will Ospreay and “Hangman” Adam Page; both equally focused on vying for the ultimate championship.
In other Dynamite news, a brawl segment took place featuring Powerhouse Hobbs and Brody King battling The Don Callis Family. Interestingly, Calvin Bloom, aka Von Wagner from his NXT wrestling days, was spotted as part of the security team.
Von Wagner was previously part of the WWE security detail – a common route taken by new talent or local wrestlers, illustrating how history often repeats itself in the wrestling industry.
Presently, there are no signs suggesting Von Wagner has inked a deal with All Elite Wrestling, however, wrestling fans know that even the slightest insider connection can sow the seeds for future discussions.
