Jason Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles’ star center, made a surprising appearance at WrestleMania 40 (Night One) alongside Rey Mysterio and Andrade. However, what many people may not know is that Kelce actually trained at the CZW (Combat Zone Wrestling) dojo in Philadelphia prior to his WrestleMania debut.

CZW recently issued a press release expressing their gratitude for having Kelce at their wrestling school. The owner of CZW, David Markland, praised Kelce for his dedication and willingness to try anything during his training. Markland also mentioned that Kelce is welcome to return to CZW in the future, indicating a potential interest in pursuing a career in professional wrestling.

The news of Kelce’s training at CZW has garnered attention from wrestling fans and media outlets alike. It is not every day that a professional athlete of Kelce’s caliber takes an interest in the world of wrestling. His appearance at WrestleMania 40 has only fueled speculation about his potential future in the industry.

In other wrestling news, the AppleTV+ docuseries on Danny Cage’s Monster Factory has been nominated for a Sports Emmy in the Outstanding Documentary Series – Serialized category. The Vox Media Studios production is up against tough competition, including Paramount+’s Football Must Go On, HBO & Max’s Hard Knocks, and Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Quarterback. This nomination highlights the growing popularity and recognition of wrestling-related content in mainstream media.

Additionally, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) has announced a fan fest as part of their Windy City Riot event in Chicago, IL. The fan fest will take place on April 11, the day before the main event, and will feature a public press conference followed by a meet and greet with NJPW and STARDOM stars. Fans will have the opportunity to interact with their favorite wrestlers and get a taste of the excitement leading up to the big event.

The Windy City Riot event itself is set to be one of the biggest NJPW shows outside of Japan in recent years. With stars like Jon Moxley and Tetsuya Naito confirmed to attend the press conference and give their final thoughts before the main event, anticipation is high among wrestling fans.

Overall, these recent developments in the world of professional wrestling have created a buzz among fans. From Jason Kelce’s unexpected training at CZW to the recognition of wrestling-related content in prestigious awards shows, and the upcoming fan fest at NJPW’s Windy City Riot event, there is no shortage of excitement and surprises in the wrestling industry.
