James Storm recently spoke with WrestleZone’s Dominic DeAngelo and discussed various topics, including his plans for the future and his thoughts on the current pro wrestling landscape. In one highlight, Storm reveals that he had been wrestling with a broken heel:
Storm: “We condition our bodies, and we beat the crap out of it for so long that we don’t even know that we’re hurt anymore. We just live with the pain, and then when our bodies heal up, now we gotta recondition it to get beat up again. I went to this doctor like two months ago, month and a half ago, something like that, about my ankle because my ankle was bothering me real bad. I got there and he said, ‘Well, your Achilles tendon is wore out. He said, ‘So what I wanna do is, I’m gonna put you in this boot,’ and like, I can’t believe a picture didn’t surface of like my boot. And so I’m in this basically a cast for like almost a month to restrenghen my Achilles tendon and stuff.”
“And he goes, ‘Do you know that your heel has been broken?’ I was like what? He’s like, ‘Yeah, I can see the line. It’s healed up nicely,’ he goes, ‘But you’ve broken your heel.’ I was like, I probably did, I was like, it’s one of those things where I just sucked it up and chalked it off to it hurting, you know. I don’t think it’s broke [sic] because I’m still walking on it. You know, and he’s like ‘Well,’ he goes, ‘Yup -, you had a broken heel.’ I was like, alright, well, thanks.”
Storm also said that he’s interested in facing All Elite Wrestling stars Adam “Hangman” Page and Cody Rhodes:
Storm: “A lot of people have been asking for me and Hangman Page to like tag up, like to come out together. It’s one of those things like, I would like to do that, but it’s one of those things where I don’t want to step on his toes as well, especially because I know how this goes. It’s like, he just came out of a tag team, and they probably wanna try to push him as a singles guy.”
“I know a lot of people wanted me to do like the Cody Rhodes challenge, when he was doing that thing, and I think me and Cody could have tore it down as well. But you know, it’s one of those things where the timing wasn’t right.”
