On his recent episode of “The Snake Pit” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts shared his remembrances on the passing of fellow WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa’i.
Some highlighted excerpts from the podcast include:
When asked about his memories of Sika, Jake shared an anecdote about a confrontational man at a pool in Baton Rouge. According to Jake, Sika was a force to be reckoned with. After the man challenged him, Sika responded by launching an unexpected punch. This ensued a minor chaos involving Sika chasing the man off, and eventually discovering teeth lodged into his hand after a few days had passed.
Addressing the challenges of working in Japan, Jake expressed his struggle with being away from his family for extended periods of time. His initial trip spanned 12 weeks, an experience that put a damper on subsequent trips to the country. Jake lamented the less-than-stellar accommodations and living conditions he encountered while touring the smaller towns of Japan with a not so prominent wrestling company. Regardless, he acknowledged that he learned much from his experiences there, although it did not become his preferred work destination.
