Speaking on a recent episode of his “The Snake Pit” podcast, Jake Roberts once again alleged that ‘The Wrestler,‘ the 2008 professional wrestling film starring Mickey Rourke as the titular character Robin Ramzinski/Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson, was based largely on his own real-life experiences. Roberts, however, also reminisced about meeting Rourke and how he had a pleasant experience with the veteran Hollywood actor. He said,
“I thought he did a phenomenal job, man. I mean, that story was my story. It was about me. They didn’t want to pay me, motherf*ckers. Yeah, he [Mickey Rourke] thanked me. I saw him in L.A., man, and he thanked me and, you know, was just really gracious about it.”
