In a recent episode of his podcast, “The Snake Pit”, Jake Roberts chatted about the distinctive qualities of Mid-South Wrestling. He also touched on Cody Rhodes naming him as a dream match. Here are a few noteworthy points from the podcast:

When reflecting on Cody Rodes expressing interest in a match with him, Roberts said, “It’s quite flattering. No doubt about it. I’ve previously faced off against his brother and his father, so taking him on as well wouldn’t be a stretch.”

Discussing the distinguishing features of Mid-South Wrestling, Roberts said, “Mid-South was all about being raw and real. You couldn’t slack off or fake anything. If you made it to the top, you’d have to last for at least 25 minutes in a match every night. The fights were intense because that’s what Bill Watts demanded.”

On a recent episode of his podcast, “Everybody’s Got A Pod”, WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase Sr. shared his thoughts on Arn Anderson’s retirement from wrestling and Kevin Nash’s act of mocking it. Here are a few podcast takeaways:

Speaking about Arn Anderson stepping away from wrestling in WCW, DiBiase Sr. said, “It was compelling TV, but it was also poignant because it mirrored real life. Arn really had to step away from the ring.”

Regarding his own retirement from wrestling, DiBiase Sr. said, “I promised myself that I wouldn’t be in the ring well into my 50s, when I wouldn’t look the part anymore. I decided that, post 40, I’d stop physically wrestling. I stood true to my word, and that’s when I began my new role as a manager and a commentator.”

Expressing his distaste for Kevin Nash’s skit where he parodies Anderson’s retirement, DiBiase Sr. said, “It was distasteful. It’s one thing to work a program knowing it’s imaginary. But to talk about someone who had to retire for real, it just didn’t feel right to me.”
