Jake Roberts has announced that he will miss the next two weeks of AEW Dynamite due to illness but it says that it is not related to COVID-19. The WWE Hall of Famer took to Twitter early this morning to announce that he will not be at the tapings of AEW Dynamite on December 16, which means he will miss two weeks of television.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to appear tonight due to illness (not COVID). These days we all have to be on point. Looking forward to seeing everyone in two weeks. In the meantime, keep an eye on Lance for me on #AEWDynamite LIVE TONIGHT 8/7c on TNT pic.twitter.com/sDqszxviDQ

Back in November, Jake announced that he is struggling with COPD but he also plans on continuing with AEW as long as it remains possible.
“When I don’t get the right amount of oxygen into my blood, if I talk for 20 seconds, I’m done. I can’t go anymore. This is going to be something I’ll have to work with forever. Thankfully, AEW actually cares about us athletes and get us the help we need. They really cared for Lance when he got the COVID-19. Sadly, I went down the very next night with this issue. All I want to do is get out there and just do what I do man. That’s all I want.”
