In a recent episode of his podcast, “The Snake Pit”, the iconic WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts shared his insights on a variety of topics. He candidly reflected on his wrestling stance of being a heel versus a babyface, his experience of partnering with Honky Tonk Man during WrestleMania 3, among other themes.

Please find some standout moments from the podcast below:

When asked if he felt intensified pressure due to the magnitude of WrestleMania 3, Jake replied, “I yearned to make the most of that particular moment. Being a part of WrestleMania 3 with such an enormous audience present and having Alice Cooper supporting me at ringside was mind-blowing. Interestingly, ‘School’s Out For Summer’, Alice Cooper’s song, was the top hit when I graduated high school. Having him by my side was surreal.”

In 1987, Jake expressed a profound aversion to adopting the persona of a babyface. He stated, “Honestly, I never wished to be a babyface. It was something I couldn’t get behind.”

On his preference for playing a heel, Jake said, “In my opinion, as a heel, I can produce more satisfying work. Playing a heel gives me the freedom to explore any narrative I choose. On the other hand, a babyface character is constrained by certain narrative boundaries. Like, I’d have to go around kissing babies. For real? That just doesn’t resonate with me.”
