During a recent episode of his popular podcast “The Snake Pit”, Jake Roberts, who is lauded in the worldwide wrestling circuit and an honoree in the WWE Hall of Fame, shared his preference between being a part of the Four Horsemen or the nWo.
Here are some notable excerpts from that podcast discussion:
Roberts discussed his preferred wrestling group, the NWO or Four Horsemen, explaining, “I’d definitely choose the Four Horsemen… Four guys, that’s it. With the NWO, one can hardly keep track of who’s who. There were nearly 200 members in the NWO. To me, it seemed too diluted.”
In terms of his opinions about factions in wrestling, he said, “I believe they’re fine. There’s certainly nothing wrong with them. However, sometimes they can go overboard. They try to impose their rules, sulk and grumble if things don’t go their way. I’m not particularly fond of that.”
On the topic of the greatest wrestling faction of all time, he asserted, “The likely answer would be the NWO. But, they were more harmful than anyone else… The situation spiraled out of control eventually, and they just lost total command. With 30 members, really, whom are you going to fight against?”
Further, he criticized the management of the NWO, lamenting, “It deteriorated so badly, it was sorrowful, man. The modus operandi was always the same: thrash someone, spray paint them, so on. It was innovative the first time, maybe even the second. But afterward, it became monotonous.”
