Jaida Parker Idolizes Serena Williams, Jeff Jarrett On How Tribalism Benefits Wrestling

Recently, Jaida Parker, during her time on the “No Contest Wrestling” podcast, explained her admiration for Serena Williams, the tennis superstar.

Parker passionately mentioned, An icon, yes, she’s a living legend. Since my high school years and even before, I’ve been inspired by her. From her iconic Super Bowl crip walk to her intense tennis matches, she’s been a beacon of inspiration. Also, being a role model for her daughters and kids, she epitomizes what a true role model should be, alongside Bayley. She’s such an inspiration to me, I cannot even envision where I’d be without adopting her mindset. Though she doesn’t know me, her impact on me is significant. I am well-versed with her journey and she continues to be a source of inspiration for me.

The Orlando Sentinel recently featured an interview with Jeff Jarrett, in which he defended the tribal nature of wrestling fandom, asserting it is beneficial for the industry.

Here are some key takeaways from the interview:

Regarding tribalism in wrestling: “I appreciate tribalism and accept it as it is intrinsic to what pro wrestling essentially is — home team vs. away, good vs. evil, there are various shades in between. Our world today is highly divisive and tribalistic. But in wrestling, because of its capacity to stir emotions, it opens up more discussion, ignites more passion, and subsequently generates more revenue.”

On the transition from wrestling to serving on the board of Acclaim: “I wouldn’t describe it as a significant leap since fundamentally, I am an entrepreneur and a promoter. It’s all about storytelling, engaging fans, and producing emotionally riveting content. When they offered me to join the board, I immediately grabbed the chance.”

When asked about Will Ospreay: “In my opinion, Will is currently the best athlete inside the ring. I have seen a young AJ Styles whose athletic abilities amazed me. Will is of the same ilk and even more because today’s athletes are better, larger, quicker, stronger. That’s the evolution of the game. Their match was simply phenomenal.”
