Jacksonville Mayor Suspends All Events After Confirmed Coronavirus Case, AEW Dynamite In Jeopardy

AEW Dynamite Results

Just last night, we reported that All Elite Wrestling was moving their next two weeks of TV tapings out of the New York area. Week one was scheduled to take place in Jacksonville at Daily’s Place with a “strict attendance protocol”, but that may not happen as of today. A patient in Duval County has tested positive for the Coronavirus, the sickness that’s spreading across the globe this week. As such, Mayor Lenny Curry has moved to suspend all events in the city. At a news conference this morning, Curry stated the following:

I have ordered city departments to immediately suspend all permits for large gatherings and stop such gatherings at city parks or in city property, through the end of the month.

Mayor @lennycurry and officials from @JaxReady @JFRDJAX @JSOPIO and @DuvalSchools are holding a news conference now about the local case of #COVID19 – All city owned event venues will remain closed until further notice as well as the zoo and all libraries at the end of today. pic.twitter.com/hAZgxCff7X

Libraries, public parks, and the Jacksonville Zoo will remain closed, as well as all city facilities. While Daily’s Place isn’t listed by name, the sweeping edict could cause AEW to have to find a second new home for their show in less than 48 hours.

WrestleZone has reached out to All Elite Wrestling and will update this story when further details reveal themselves.
