“It’s Still My Era” Jay White Makes NJPW Return In Korakuen Hall
“Switchblade” Jay White made a shocking return to New Japan Pro Wrestling on Monday. White left fans in a flurry of rumor, and speculation after a post-Wrestle Kingdom 15 meltdown that seemed to signal a possible end for his tenure in NJPW. At New Year’s Dash, White fell to Tomohiro Ishii in a multi-man tag match and disappeared without even a word. Fans held their breath as his profile was scrubbed from the NJPW website, his cards removed from the NJPW Collection trading card game, and posters featuring him going up and then coming down for the upcoming anniversary show. The Royal Rumble came and went, as imaginations went wild, believing maybe Switchblade was headed to WWE.
Monday night, Jay White struck. Attacking Tomohiro Ishii, after Ishii got the deciding fall in a tag match with Bullet Club during a routine Road To New Beginning Show in Korakuen Hall. “It’s still my era,” White declared as he stormed out of the arena, a very happy Gedo in tow.
No word on what is next for the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, but its looks clear he’s staying put.
