Several WWE contract renewals for notable wrestlers have taken place this year, with names like Asuka, Seth Rollins, Shayna Baszler, Drew McIntyre, Humberto Carrillo, Angel Garza, and Damian Priest coming into the spotlight. Another high-profile WWE Superstar, Cedric Alexander, also appears to have secured a new deal that promises to keep him with the company in the times to come.
In his stint with WWE, Alexander’s journey has been dotted with both milestone triumphs and inevitable challenges. Initially, he made his mark in the Cruiserweight Classic, following which he moved to the 205 Live brand and eventually the RAW roster.
Towards the end of 2019, word got around about Paul Heyman’s admiration for Alexander during his tenure as RAW’s Executive Director, catalyzing a brief push for the wrestler. It was around this time that Alexander was in a rivalry with AJ Styles for the United States Title.
Subsequently, in 2020, Alexander became a part of The Hurt Business, teaming up with Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin. The group garnered a huge fan base before their dissolution, with Alexander securing the Tag Team Championship during this phase.
However, despite his notable feats, it seems that Alexander’s appearances with WWE have been sparse lately, mostly confined to live events and Main Event matches.
During a virtual signing event for K&S WrestleFest, MVP shared that, to his knowledge, Alexander had “recently signed a new deal” with WWE. However, no official confirmation has come either from Alexander himself or from WWE regarding the speculation.
