AEW professional wrestler Samoa Joe is set to re-enter the universe of non-wrestling video game characters as he takes on a role in the forthcoming Yakuza game, “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.”
The recently released long-form trailer of the game previews the thrilling pirate-oriented adventures that await players. It also provides a glimpse into Samoa Joe’s character, who takes on a villainous persona.
Joe joins an impressive list of wrestlers featured in the Yakuza gaming series. Other big names include Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito, and The Great Muta, among other personalities from the wrestling industry.
It isn’t Joe’s first foray into the video gaming world. He previously made appearances in Tie Nee Avan personna in 2008’s “TNA iMPACT” and a number of WWE games, including “AEW Fight Forever”.
The gaming industry has seen Samoa Joe not just showcasing his wrestling skills, but also voicing characters. Last year, he lent his voice to the character King Shark in “Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League”. He is also known for his work in the “Twisted Metal” Peacock series, where he plays the character Sweet Tooth. This series is adapted from the highly popular game series.
