Today marks the end of Chad Gable’s tenure with WWE as his contract expires. A host of other wrestling promotions are lining up, showing their interest. There is also a chance for a renewal of his contract as WWE itself is looking forward to re-signing him.
Moreover, there is a growing chorus from talents associated with various external wrestling companies, advocating for his contract. Gable’s recent on-screen appearances as the head of Alpha Academy while going through a heel turn have been noteworthy and frequent.
Here’s what Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported:
“Gable is on the radar of both AEW and WWE. Our sources point towards WWE presenting an attractive offer in order to retain him. Legal formalities prohibit AEW from tabling an offer before the expiration of his WWE contract. There are key influencers inside AEW who are advocating for Gable to Tony Khan. To even entertain an offer, Gable’s contract needs to reach its expiration. Coincidentally, he’s currently in the midst of the peak single’s push of his career.”
