Conrad Thompson asserts that Shane McMahon has demonstrated interest in joining All Elite Wrestling and playing a pivotal role in Tony Khan’s firm.
McMahon, who has been absent from WWE since WrestleMania 39 due to a severe quadriceps injury suffered during an unanticipated match with ex-partner The Miz, is potentially eyeing a new platform.
In a recent episode of “Grilling JR”, renowned wrestling commentator Jim Ross expressed openness to the idea of Shane moving to AEW, particularly since Vince McMahon’s departure from WWE.
Sharing news on an updated episode of the podcast, Thompson revealed that he was made aware of Shane’s investigation into an All-Elite position. He said,
“A mutual acquaintance took the initiative to message me saying, ‘Hey, the idea of Shane switching to AEW isn’t as far-fetched as you’d think. Shane McMahon has certainly spoken to wrestlers from the AEW roster about the possibility”.
While off the TV screen, Shane occupied various posts within WWE, notably as the company’s Executive Vice President of Global Media and as a member of the creative squad.
