In the past year, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) stirred substantial buzz when they secured a numerous year contract with Ric Flair, a distinguished alumnus of WWE’s Hall of Fame. The announcement also underscored the association with Flair’s energy beverage, ‘Woooooo Energy’.
Ric Flair was inducted into a plot involving a specially presented gift from AEW’s chief, Tony Khan, to Sting. Flair remained in synchrony with Sting until he hung up his boots at AEW Revolution 2024.
Tony Khan, on a previous occasion, drew parallels between Flair’s agreement with that of Randy Savage with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) during the mid-90s. Khan underscored that a considerable fraction – if not the whole – of Flair’s paycheck from AEW was funded by ‘Wooooo Energy’.
Contrarily, recent observations noted by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggested the disappearance of ‘Wooooo Energy’ artworks and commercials from AEW broadcasts, which instigated conjecture that the agreement might have reached its termination.
The paper elaborates, “There was no explanation given but unless something changes it does look like that deal is over with.”
The impact this incident will have on Flair’s affiliation with AEW is yet to be identified.
