Sukeban, a Japanese female wrestling league, today released images detailing its World Championship belt, designed by Marc Newson with an illustration by Ayako Ishiguro, featuring seminal moments and people in wrestling history.

The main plate is made in cloisonné work by hand in Beijing and mounted onto white shagreen leather in a Paris atelier.

The belt was unveiled before the live audience by Sukeban Commissioner Bull Nakano at Sukeban’s sold out World Premiere event in New York City on September 21, which was attended by Newson. Bull Nakano’s iconic leg drop is featured prominently in the belt’s design.
