Interesting Statistic Pertaining To WWE & AEW Ratings Revealed
– ADVERTISMENT –

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has highlighted a shocking stat pertaining to TV ratings, specifically in the 18-49 key demographic, and it is an instance of contrasting tales for WWE and AEW.

While WWE seems to be hitting all the right notes over the past few months, AEW has come under severe scrutiny by fans and critics alike for a variety of reasons. Meltzer’s note does seem to add to AEW’s woes. He wrote,

“Historically whenever WWE gets hot, its opposition goes down and WWE getting hot is likely a key part of the decline in AEW’s ratings all over the world. In 18-49 in the U.S., Raw has been up 19 weeks in a row from the same show one year earlier, Smackdown has been up 21 weeks in a row and NXT has been up 22 of the last 26 weeks. On the flip side, Dynamite has been down from the year before 26 straight weeks, and Rampage has been down 24 of the last 26 weeks.”

Additionally, TV ratings in the UK have also been declining, which is rather surprising considering AEW is just over two months away from AEW All In 2023.

However, in terms of ticket sales, AEW All In 2023 continues to flourish and has just crossed $8 million in gate revenue.
