Former WWE sensation Elijah recently conducted an interview with Metro UK. During this engaging dialogue, he covered several topics, among them being his proposal for a “Monday Night Messiah” persona, a role which was eventually assumed by Seth Rollins in WWE. He articulated,
“I was consistently brainstorming different personas, finding ways to advance Elias to the next level. There was this one character, Monday Night Messiah, that I truly believed would have been extraordinary for my career. Seth Rollins and AOP were ultimately the ones to portray this- for want of a better phrase- they were chosen for that gimmick. My concept involved me playing the role of a Pied Piper on Monday Night Raw, a metaphor for controlling people, akin to a cult-like leader. I’ve always had an affinity for biblical themes, hence the Messiah concept.”
Elijah went on to add, “Certain performers are simply earning higher or receiving more recognition, and resources may be directed towards them. This is no criticism of Seth, as he’s unquestionably exceptional. This just demonstrates how the industry operates, do you see what I mean? That’s the gamble you take when proposing these ideas.”
Elijah parted ways with WWE in September of 2023.
