On a recent edition of his “Lex Expressed” podcast, Lex Luger shared his perspective on why he hasn’t been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame yet.
Luger noted that his personal struggles are the reason why WWE has kept him out of the Hall of Fame.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On why he’s not in: “I get asked that question a lot… A lot of guys go, ‘Wait, you’re not in?’ A lot of people think I’m already in. When people ask me ‘Why?’ I really don’t know what criteria … I think me personally, my in-ring criteria definitely fits. I think [I] have the credentials to get in. But I understand that my out-of-ring antics can play a role sometimes … I don’t know if that’s a factor or not. But maybe [I’m] controversial, and some people felt like the wrestling world shunned me for a while due to some of the things that happened outside of the ring … deservedly so.”
On understanding if he doesn’t get in: “There’s consequences for things we do in life, so if that keeps me out of the Hall of Fame, I understand. If I never get in, I still look back fondly on my career and what I did accomplish.”
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry cited Cody Rhodes’ study of wrestling history as an example of talents who have transformed themselves when discussing Swerve Strickland’s rise in AEW.
Henry said, “Cody Rhodes is the best example I’ve seen. Every time you see Cody Rhodes in a locker room, he’s got wrestling playing on a video player from 1987 or ’91 or sometime in the past. He’s not living in the present. He’s trying to learn the history. He’s trying to remember. He’s trying to see something that people are not doing right now. Studying.”
He continued, “Cody Rhodes, he don’t have to do that. He can play the hits.’ The hits not good enough for him. He wants to be transcendent. He wants to be great. He wants the greatest wrestlers of all time to go, ‘Hey, man, you been diggin’ in the crates. You pulled that out. I remember that. Magnum T.A. used to do that back in ’88′”

Why Lex Luger Hasn’t Been Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame
Lex Luger, a former professional wrestler, recently discussed why he hasn’t been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on his podcast, “Lex Expressed.” Luger believes that his personal struggles are the main reason why WWE has kept him out of the prestigious Hall of Fame.
Luger stated that many people assume he is already in the Hall of Fame, and he acknowledged that his in-ring credentials are worthy of induction. However, he understands that his out-of-ring antics may have played a role in WWE’s decision to exclude him. Luger admitted that some of the things that happened outside of the wrestling ring led to him being shunned by the wrestling world.
Despite not being inducted into the Hall of Fame, Luger remains grateful for his career and the accomplishments he achieved. He understands that there are consequences for one’s actions in life, and if those consequences keep him out of the Hall of Fame, he accepts it.
In a separate podcast episode of “Busted Open Radio,” WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry praised Cody Rhodes for his dedication to studying wrestling history. Henry used Rhodes as an example of a talent who has transformed himself by immersing himself in the past. Rhodes constantly watches old wrestling matches from the 1980s and 1990s, seeking inspiration and learning from the greats who came before him.
Henry commended Rhodes for not settling for playing the hits but striving to be transcendent and great. Rhodes aims to impress even the greatest wrestlers of all time by incorporating forgotten techniques and moves from the past into his performances.
While Luger awaits his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, Cody Rhodes serves as an inspiration for talents who are determined to leave a lasting impact on the wrestling industry. Rhodes’ commitment to studying wrestling history demonstrates the importance of learning from the past to shape the future of the sport.
In conclusion, Lex Luger believes that his personal struggles have prevented him from being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. However, he remains grateful for his career and accepts any consequences that may arise from his actions. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes serves as an example of a wrestler who has dedicated himself to studying wrestling history and incorporating forgotten techniques into his performances.
