Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Erik is expected to be gone for several months.

“The decision was made because Ray Rowe [Erik] is out after surgery, said to be for at least six months, is to push Ivar as a singles player. In the past when one member of a tag team that’s usually an exclusive team gets hurt, they’ve just not used the other much,” Meltzer wrote.

WWE Superstar Erik, one-half of the popular tag team Viking Raiders, is set to be out of action for an extended period of time due to injury. The news was announced by Wade Barrett on commentary during Monday’s episode of WWE RAW. According to reports, Erik’s injury will keep him sidelined “for the foreseeable future.”

On the same show, Erik’s tag team partner, Ivar, competed in a singles match against Xavier Woods and unfortunately suffered a loss. However, Ivar will have another opportunity to prove himself as he is scheduled to face Kofi Kingston in a “Viking Rules” match on the upcoming episode of RAW.

Dave Meltzer, a renowned wrestling journalist, reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Erik’s absence is expected to last several months. Meltzer explained that the decision to push Ivar as a singles player was made due to Erik’s surgery and subsequent recovery time. It is common for WWE to sideline the healthy member of a tag team when their partner is injured, but in this case, they have chosen to utilize Ivar in a singles role.

This presents a unique opportunity for Ivar to showcase his individual skills and potentially establish himself as a formidable singles competitor. While the Viking Raiders have achieved considerable success as a tag team, this injury setback for Erik could be a turning point in Ivar’s career.
