Talk is rife that Ricochet will soon be parting ways with WWE due to the imminent expiration of his contract, which has led to widespread conjecture that his next stop could very well be AEW.
Though WWE expressed genuine interest in retaining the services of Ricochet, they had to find a way to write him out of their television program. Consequently, on a recent episode of Monday’s RAW, Bron Breakker was scripted to hurl Ricochet into a WWE production truck, causing him to crash through a car’s windshield. This resulted in the WWE issuing a subsequent report indicating Ricochet had suffered several upper body injuries, necessitating a break from in-ring activities. However, the timeframe for his hiatus remains unspecified.
This intriguing situation was summarized by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“There is enough time that they could bring him back for a different ending. And the reality is, people can also change their mind. WWE was not wanting to lose him, obviously, and the angle was done to give him a great reason to return if he had second thoughts. WWE had ideas for him both if he was staying as well as ways to write him out, but those in WWE confirmed to us that the belief there was he was leaving.”
