After being absent from the wrestling ring due to a foot injury, Adam Cole was reported to be backstage at this week’s AEW Dynamite tapings, leading to speculation about a return. Cole’s last match was at the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam event in the previous year, but he had to step off the wrestling mat when he broke his foot in September 2023.
Cole’s sighting at AEW Dynamite was seen as encouraging news, given he had stayed off the road for few months to aid his healing process, as travelling was believed to be impeding his recovery. According to Fightful Select, there are whisperings that Cole will recommence training as early as next week.
Separately, professional wrestler Lance Archer gave commentary on his past interactions with Will Ospreay and his take on Ospreay’s success, during a recent episode of his podcast, “Murderhawk Mailbag”. He revisited the origins of his rivalry with Ospreay in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, their milestone G1 Climax match in 2019, the tournament in which Ospreay managed to outperform him leading to the All In the previous year, and more.
Archer showered praise on the rising wrestling star, comparing him to legendary wrestlers like AJ Styles, and expressed hope that Ospreay would win his forthcoming match with MJF at AEW All In: London, mainly because Archer would love to challenge him for a title match.
