Fresh insights have been disclosed regarding the renewal of Damian Priest’s WWE contract.
On the following night of WrestleMania 40, after his victory over Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Title, Priest publically announced he had cemented a brand new contract with WWE.
Contrary to the timing of the announcement, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select provides information that the contract had been signed several months prior. The process was a countdown to the last minute, as Priest’s earlier contract was scheduled to run out in February, only a few days shy of the termination date.
Knowledgeable insiders within WWE shared that they had always planned to secure Priest on their roster, highlighting that there were plentiful conversations between both parties regarding the new multi-year commitment.
