Injured AEW Star Edges Closer To In-Ring Return

The stage appears set for the anticipated return of a previously sidelined star to AEW.

For the greater part of 2024, Ortiz has not been active due to the torn pectoral muscle he incurred while pairing with Eddie Kingston for a match against Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli in the AEW Collision episode of January 20th.

Post his split with Mike Santana, now a part of TNA Wrestling, AEW had recast Ortiz in a solo role. He was last seen on the Dynamite stage in March 2023.

In a novel appearance on Isiah Kassidy’s vlog, Ortiz apprised his followers with updates on his comeback to the wrestling ring.

In Ortiz’s own words, “I’m not quite back yet, but I’m right there. I’m stronger, faster, but less flexible.”
