During a recent episode of his podcast, “Wise Choices,” WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts on VICE TV’s new docuseries, “Who Killed WCW?”.
Highlights from his podcast conversation include:
On his initial reluctance to be a part of “Who Killed WCW?”: Eric confessed, “To be truthful, when they first reached out, I was hesitant to participate, and once again delve into the dissecting of WCW. Until now, every representation from a television perspective has essentially followed the same narrative. They have relied on the rumors and speculations circulating in the industry, mostly second or third-hand information. It mostly seemed like myth and folklore. But then Guy Evans came along, wrote an exceptional book about WCW. I believe the Seven Bucks producers saw this book and thought, ‘There’s more to this story.'”
On his role in the docuseries: Eric commented, “Regarding my involvement, I did lend a hand in coordinating talent, but I didn’t contribute to the content creation, except of course my personal inputs. Therefore, I am optimistic that, as I was assured at the beginning, this is going to present a fresh perspective on the WCW saga and its demise. Importantly, it will not be a WWE recap. So let’s wait and see. Considering that The Rock is involved, as well as Brian Gewirtz, towards whom I have immeasurable respect, I have high hopes.”
