The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported the preliminary pay-per-view (PPV) statistics for the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 event.
These preliminary figures suggest a downward trend in the PPV numbers, when compared to those of the Double Or Nothing 2024 event. This reduces the turnout aligns more closely with the viewership for AEW Dynasty’s event.
Adding to this, there has been a reported drop of 17.1% in television viewership from AEW Double Or Nothing 2024.
The early PPV statistics for AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 are estimated to be between 110,000 and 116,000, comparable to the streaming purchases for the AEW Dynasty 2024 event.
However, these final PPV numbers may see an increase due to late purchases. The AEW Double Or Nothing 2024 event, in particular, saw a significant boost due to late buying patterns.
