Hulk Hogan’s promotional tour for his beer in Ohio continues to stir controversy as a protestor was detained at a recent event. The incident occurred at a Kroger store in Liberty Township, Ohio, where a man called Kurt Livingston was apprehended by security.
Talk Show host, Lincoln Ware, shared multiple videos of the protestor on Facebook. Reports from WLWT indicate that one of the security personnel had an altercation with Livingston, ultimately taking him to the ground and handcuffing him after claiming to have been punched in the mouth.
Livingston countered this claim, stating that he had been pushed, and reacted by trying to block the guard’s hand. His attempt to block apparently resulted in an altercation that saw him taken to the ground and cuffed. Hulk Hogan was reportedly inside the store at the time, but did not witness the incident.
Incidents related to Hogan’s activities on this tour are not new. During an earlier event in Medina, Ohio, Hogan made inappropriate comments about Vice President Kamala Harris’ heritage, sparking controversy. He even discussed the idea of bodyslamming Kamala, leading to an uproar from some quarters. At the same event, a woman sustained injuries from a thrown beer can, requiring nine stitches. Hogan has not been accused of the throw, but the incident certainly adds a reportedly negative light to the tour.
The wrestling star has also faced professional issues in the recent past, including being fired from WWE in 2015 after racist remarks he made were revealed to the public. Despite these controversies, Hogan continues to make public appearances, such as his recent marking of 40 years since Hulkamania’s ‘birth’ with his 1984 WWWF title win.
