Jinder Mahal has revealed that he was informed of his discontinuation as an active wrestling member following the WWE Draft of 2023.
Mahal was chosen in the draft alongside team Indus Sher to become a part of the RAW franchise. However, despite being informed of his role changing, Mahal continued to show his wrestling prowess in various matches, including a pivotal event in India, the ‘Superstar Spectacle.’
During an interview, Mahal shared information about the change in his role and said, “During the time I was managing Indus Sher, after we were drafted to Raw, it was communicated to me that my role was no longer that of a wrestler but a manager’s. Despite this, I maintained my physical fitness. I proposed various narratives, including six-man tags and matches where I could perform while being managed by Indus Sher. To no avail. I questioned the writer of the show about it and found out from the roster sheet. I didn’t feature in Male heels on Raw, SmackDown male heels or tag teams. Instead, I was mentioned in brackets, indicating a manager’s role alongside Indus Sher. I was left out from the active talent list.”
Mahal elaborated, “I questioned the writer once again. ‘Did anyone ever discuss putting a halt to my wrestling career?’ ‘Yes, it was discussed that you would be managing Indus Sher only.’ Subsequently, I participated in a match with Seth Rollins. Thankfully, I was physically fit and kept myself that way.”
