In a recent conversation on “Q101”, Tony Khan, the president of AEW, sheds light on the novel Hologram character. He revealed that he had the idea for this persona back in 2020.
Khan disclosed, “Hologram is a persona I’ve always desired to introduce to wrestling. The conception of this luchador dates back quite a few years, and to be honest, he was the one I’d always foreseen playing this role, being that wrestler. He was an outstanding emerging talent. I saw him in action at PWG when he was just 18 and we on-boarded him on Wednesday Night Dynamite, nearly half a decade back, just after the original Revolution event in Chicago. Not more than a fortnight later, due to the global crisis, everything came to standstill. We had brought him in with the intent of transforming him into Hologram right then, but the world flipped upside down, and he was stranded in Mexico for a lengthy period. It took quite a while for him to return to America, and then once things started easing, I was hell-bent on bringing Hologram to AEW. It’s been a fantastic journey, and having Hologram team up with Mistico last Saturday was an absolute delight.”
However, Hologram made his first appearance on Collision just a few weeks back and holds a winning streak of 3-0 in AEW.
The actual identity of Hologram has been kept hush-hush by AEW, but AAA booker Konnan let slip that the man behind the mask is none other than 25-year-old Aramis.
