In 2014, during their induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, wrestling greats Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts and The Ultimate Warrior were close to having a physical altercation. The preparation for this prestigious event fell on the night preceding WrestleMania 30, providing a platform for Roberts to recount his wrestling journey and personal battles vividly.
Back in 1991, a proposed showdown between The Snake and The Warrior was called off due to the latter being axed post-SummerSlam over allegations of unbecoming behavior. Reminiscing about these events on a new episode of the “Rewind, Recap, Relive” podcast, Roberts confessed readiness to confront Warrior in 2014 over the scraped match, stating:
“I went there with all intentions of having a fight and I was looking for him at the time. Then he tapped me on my back, I turned around and he started apologizing and saying how bad he felt about what he’d done and he knew that he cost me millions.”
A tragic turn of events unfolded when Warrior succumbed to a heart attack the Tuesday following the Hall of Fame function, ending his life at 54. The autopsy report later affirmed that a cardiac arrest had claimed his life.
