It’s time for another eWrestlingNews question. Recently, Dave Meltzer speculated that due to his busy schedule, The Rock might not partake in WrestleMania 41. But, this rumor was refuted by Dwayne Johnson himself on Instagram. Now, let’s play with the idea that this misgiving turned out to be true. Imagine that all the buildup to The Rock taking on Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns came to nought, and WWE had to strategize for a Rock-less WrestleMania 41. The question for today is: “What major bouts would you schedule for WrestleMania 41, assuming The Rock isn’t a part of any?”

As for my take, I’ll reiterate what I’ve been saying. I am not sold on the idea of The Rock battling Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. I don’t wish to see The Rock win the title and hold it for a year before ceding it to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. Moreover, I don’t believe that The Rock should be the one to best Cody. I will perpetually promote the idea of staging Rock/Cody at either Saturday Night’s Main Event or at Royal Rumble 2025. The ideal WWE Championship match would be Romans/Reigns headlined event, with Cody wrestling someone else.

Assume that we couldn’t have the Rock/Roman match, it becomes a conundrum figuring out Roman’s role in particular. Cody’s path is clear; he has two easy options. One option could be John Cena, but I don’t think that should happen at WrestleMania, a smaller event would be better to avoid Cody being booed. Cody Rhodes facing Randy Orton, regardless of The Rock’s availability, makes for an ideal program, given their track record in Legacy and the mentor/protégé angle.

This leaves us with Roman Reigns in limbo – what does he do? My take is if WWE confirms that The Rock isn’t available, they should prolong the story with Solo Sikoa and arrange a Tribal Combat match for the Tribal Chief title. This shouldn’t happen at Crown Jewel but rather at Survivor Series with Roman, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and either Cody Rhodes or Sami Zayn. However, this means the grudge match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa would extend until WrestleMania.

Let’s hope things pan out differently. What’s your opinion? Share your thoughts below!
