On a recent version of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T revealed his thoughts when Bret Hart declared how the five-time WCW Champion almost endangered his life with the acclaimed scissor kick at WCW Bash At The Beach. Additionally, Booker T discussed the abilities and potential future of Joe Hendry in WWE, voicing his promise to help Hendry gain recognition amongst WWE followers.
Below are some highlights from the podcast:
When asked about Hart’s allegation about the scissor kick incident, Booker said, “Truthfully, I believe Bret was just poking fun. The Goldberg instance, I have a feeling that was genuine. But regarding Bret and I, we had an amazing time. It was an immense honor working with Bret, as I have always admired him. My way of doing the suplex is inspired by Bret’s iconic suplex, which felt in a specific way when I implemented it.
However, when it comes to my scissor kick, I haven’t had any complaints so far. But I must confess that I had accidentally broken a few opponents’ noses in the past unintentionally. For instance, Brian Kendrick revealed that I had broken his nose, which was certainly not out of malice. I admit, I might have been a bit stiff at times when landing the kicks. I recently revisited the match with Bret where I hit him with a scissor kick while wearing a knee brace and truth to be told, it was a hard hit. Hence, Bret’s comment may have a portion of truth to it. However, I don’t recollect ever causing him any kind of harm. I have nothing but immense respect for the Hit Man.”
On the topic of Joe Hendry, he stated, “I’m determined to make this lad a sensation. I would extend my full support to him just like I did with Bron Breakker, Ilja Dragunov, Trick Williams. This lad is inherently talented, and he also possesses impressive guitar skills with an engaging voice. I informed him that he could excel in various fields simultaneously. He could be a wrestling superstar in the main event and could also perform at a concert at the very next moment. Hence, let’s see how we can escalate his career graph as that’s our main focus right now.”
