Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has given a thumbs up to Undisputed WWE Champ Cody Rhodes for his ongoing stint as the leading face of the wrestling promotion.
Rhodes claimed the title during WrestleMania 40: Night Two, putting an end to Roman Reigns’ impressive 1,316-day tenure as the champion which started in 2020.
In a recent conversation with Justin Barrasso, Hogan drew comparisons between the wrestling era of his time and the current one, and shed light on Rhodes’ successful tenure with the championship. He said,
“A lot of what we did back then still works. From time to time, you see him kind of ‘Hulk up.’ That’s interesting to see. But it’s so difficult to draw a comparison. This is a completely different era.
“I slammed Andre The Giant once at WrestleMania III, and that was it. Would one slam be sufficient now? I’m not sure. So, the times have evolved, and Cody’s handling his championship duties well—certainly not an easy task.”
The most recent on-air defense of Rhodes’ title saw him overcoming Kevin Owens at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this month.
Despite being assaulted by Owens post the event, Rhodes made a comeback during a WWE live show this week in Jacksonville.
