In the latest episode of the wrestling podcast “WrestleBinge,” WWE legend Hulk Hogan expressed his high regard for current WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes, also known as The American Nightmare. Hogan claimed that Rhodes’ talent and dedication could take WWE to entirely new heights.
Hogan stated, “Cody has truly paved his own way in this industry through sheer hard work and determination. Undoubtedly, he’s right where he needs to be. I admire his cool demeanor and systematic approach in the ring, which I believe will bring him an enduring career. His performances never disappoint. His bouts with Seth [Rollins] stand out, they’re truly convincing and it’s clear he’s on the path to make a big impact. He could set a new benchmark for WWE.”
In an unrelated incident, wrestler Shelton Benjamin expressed remorse over a 2009 episode featuring a debut of Yoshi Tatsu. In the context of this incident, Benjamin made a mockery of the way Tatsu pronounced his words. Looking back, Benjamin expressed a wish to erase this experience from his wrestling history.
He shared on Twitter, “This is one event in my career that I wish I could undo. I am deeply outraged and embarrassed by this racially insensitive incident. It’s small comfort that it ended with my character getting a blow to his head and losing #racismsucks.”
