Hulk Hogan recently expressed his confusion over Adam Copeland’s daring leap from a cage onto Malakai Black during the AEW Double or Nothing 2024 pay-per-view event, particularly because Copeland, better known as Edge, ended up fracturing his tibia in the process. Hogan crafted these thoughts on a recent episode of “The Outbound Life” podcast.
Hogan admitted that he couldn’t comprehend why the stunt was necessary, stating: “I watched Edge [Copeland] jump off the cage the other night. I haven’t talked to him yet, he’s a skilled professional in the twilight of his career. He just goes and leaps off the top. I’d appreciate it if someone could explain this to me. He’s already popular. Most of those who attempt such a stunt are just trying to earn fame. Edge didn’t need to do that, yet he did, and I’m perplexed by it. I was going to ring him yesterday but ended falling asleep.”
The wrestling veteran continued, “I just wanted some clarity. ‘Please explain this to me. You already have a solid fanbase. You didn’t have to do that. You didn’t have to climb up there.’ If one decides to climb, it doesn’t hold any significance unless it exceeds Mick Foley’s legendary leap. Mick was thrown off a cage and smashed into a table. To top Mick, one should get tossed off a cage with no table to break the fall. I just couldn’t see the rationale behind Edge’s action. He’s so much loved and therefore, didn’t need the stunt.”
