Riddle just wants a hug from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

During a recent appearance on Out Of Character With Ryan Satin, “The Original Bro” described his relationship with McMahon and noted that he’s still chasing his first hug from “The Boss.” He emphasized that he won’t force the issue, though; he’s content to wait for the embrace until McMahon is ready go give it.

“You know, we do and we don’t [have a relationship], being 100% honest,” said Riddle. “Because the thing is like, I’ve been on TV a lot. I work a lot, you know, Vince sees me every week, at least once. So he’s seen me, I’ve gotten a lot of handshakes, ‘Good job, I love your stuff,’ this, that, a lot of compliments.

“I have yet to receive a Vince McMahon hug. I was hoping I’d get one after SummerSlam, but not so much. I don’t want to force it, I’m not forcing it. You hug me when you’re ready, bro.”

Though he hasn’t gotten that hug yet, Riddle has been thriving on the main roster, and this success isn’t lost on him. In fact, he noted that he’s enjoyed more success on WWE RAW, compared to his memorable run on NXT. “The Original Bro” described how he has somewhat carved out a role for himself as a goofy person who turns into a serious competitor when he steps into the ring.

“I think, when you get up to the main roster, you either, it’s the ocean, it’s a big place,” said Riddle. “There’s a lot of people, there’s a lot of characters, and there’s lot of competition, and you gotta stick out. You gotta do what you gotta do, you gotta become as valuable as you can, and for me, I saw an opportunity to kinda be funny and be as serious as I can be in the ring and kinda bring that blend of old-school Kurt Angle, when he was kinda goofy and also an Olympic gold medalist. Well I’m kinda goofy, but I’m also a former UFC fighter, so I feel like I’m bringing that blend and I love it.

“I’ve just been having so much fun working with all the top-level talent and working with Randy and just, dude, being on the main roster, I know some people are like, you know what people say, they’re like, ‘Ah, it’s the main roster, it’s a curse.’ I think it’s awesome. You know, I’ve had two championships since I’ve been here. I’ve been way more successful on the main roster than I ever was in NXT, so honestly, I love it. It’s been awesome.”
