We present yet another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day for all of you wrestling fans!
News has it that Lance Anoa’i might be the latest addition to The Bloodline, as he reportedly joins the NXT roster. Currently, he is on a waiting pattern due to an injury and non-clearance to compete.
Today’s query for all you wrestling enthusiasts is “What would be your strategy for launching him and incorporating him into the WWE roster?”
Don’t forget to share your responses in the comments section below.
Here’s my take…
My earlier assumption was that Hikuleo would join The Bloodline on SmackDown as Talla Tonga prior to Survivor Series so that he could participate in the WarGames match. But that didn’t materialize, and most reports sporadically hint at his possible move to NXT.
Considering this, along with the wait time for Anoa’i to recover, one approach could be to introduce them together as a tag team. This might seem strange, considering that Hikuleo would fit better on the main roster.
However, an alternate idea strikes me. It would be intriguing to see Solo Sikoa lose WarGames to Roman Reigns, leading to a tribal chief contest scenario, following which The Rock may exclude Sikoa. The Rock aligns with Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Hikuleo. Then, at WrestleMania, we see Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa against Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Hikuleo, while Jacob Fatu competes for the United States Championship. You could incorporate Lance Anoa’i either independently, or as part of a tag team if WWE manage to get Zilla Fatu on board.
Should Anoa’i join independently, his inclusion in NXT amidst the current Bloodline feud would sound odd. It would thus seem that he almost needs to play like a spy intending to take over NXT. However, without knowing more about his potential, it’s hard to say if he’s deserving of the NXT champion title. If he proves to be so, then his debut as an immediate threat would probably be the most straightforward. Perhaps he could even be presented as Ava’s surprise signing, hinting at Ava’s heel transition as a general manager.
