Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Day’s Question!

In the aftermath of WWE Bad Blood, Cody Rhodes confronts threats from The Rock, a possibly impending face-off with Gunther at Crown Jewel, and an ambush in the parking area by Kevin Owens.

The burning question of the day is, “How can WWE effectively manage these narratives?”

Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments below!

As for my take…

The match with Gunther doesn’t require much buildup. It’s not about titles. Neither is it about an old promotion. All it needs is a single standoff between them. Ideally, there would be a tag team match where Kevin Owens continues his fresh heel turn by teaming up with Gunther to battle a team comprising of Cody and Sami Zayn, who is set to face Gunther tonight for the title.

This could be a good scenario for next week’s Raw, or perhaps, the upcoming SmackDown. This week should focus on Cody dealing with Owen’s betrayal post the title match on Friday. This can be followed by a response from Sami on Raw to build up the hype.

In parallel, the narrative involving The Rock should take centerstage with relevant characters like Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. Considering they are more deeply involved in the storyline than Cody, it can’t all be about Rhodes with nothing for The Bloodline to do but repeat their routine brawls. Plus, the future course of this arc is yet uncertain. It could lead to Crown Jewel, or WarGames, or Saturday Night’s Main Event, or even Royal Rumble. My guess is Survivor Series, with a possibility of a solo match between Roman and Solo at Crown Jewel.

The most intriguing question is when will the rematch between Owens and Rhodes take place. Assuming it’s in the pipeline, it’s unlikely to be at Survivor Series with the WarGames match happening. Cody is most likely a part of Roman’s team there. Therefore, a potential scenario could be Cody and KO having a match on SmackDown, gradually transitioning to Owens versus Randy Orton, who could serve as Cody’s buffer and lead to the breakup of the RKO tag team. Now, Cody can participate in WarGames and possibly confront The Rock at SNME or Royal Rumble.
