NJPW’s President, Hiroshi Tanahashi, shared the names of the individuals forming the IWGP Committee earlier today.
The responsibility of this Committee includes monitoring tournaments and organizing title matches. Listed below are the individuals who make up the committee:
– Members of the IWGP Committee: Yuji Nagata and Jyushin Thunder Liger
– Previous Chief Official: Tiger Hattori
– Current NJPW Chairman: Naoki Sugabayashi
– NJPW Representative Director: Hitoshi Matsumoto
Tanahashi, in his statement, emphasized, “I want to do all I can for you guys to enjoy the G1. At our last press conference, we discussed the restructuring of the IWGP Committee. The committee, which has always been a vague entity for fans who didn’t know who sat on it, supervises title matches and tournaments, and now I’m able to disclose who the members are.”
It was also clarified that the Committee will not have a single President. Instead, the members will jointly attend events and be present for making decisions whenever required.
