Hiromu Takahashi is expected to be on the shelf for an estimated six months as the result of a torn left pectoral muscle.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling confirmed the injury this morning, noting that Takahashi sustained a left shoulder injury and has been pulled from tonight’s card in Korakuen Hall. According to the statement, Takahashi sustained the injury on February 19 in Morioka and is “currently undergoing medical evaluation.” Takahashi, the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, was also held off of the February 20 event due to the injury.

New Japan noted any further updates on his condition will be released as they become available and apologized to fans and appreciate their understanding. The following alteration has been made to tonight’s card, pulling Takahashi and Yujiro Takahashi from the scheduled six-man tag to make it a traditional tag match.
