Hikaru Shida Wants Champion vs. Champion Match With Athena

AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida is ready to take on all-comers, including ROH Women’s World Champion Athena.

Shida recaptured the AEW Women’s World Championship during the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite, dethroning Toni Storm in the process.

Speaking with Sescoops, Shida was asked if there is anyone, in particular, she hopes to face now that she is champion again. She said,

“Yeah, actually, I have one name. It’s Athena. Yeah. We had just one single at SHIMMER. It was a long time ago, but I really love that match. I’m watching her for a long time, of course, in AEW but before when she was in the other company, I saw her long time and always she’s good. So yeah, I believe in this reign I wrestle her. I really want to.”

Shida added later in the interview that she is looking forward to facing Saraya as part of All In’s fatal-four-way Women’s Title match, stating “I’m so excited to kick her ass!”
