Adrian Hernandez was recently granted an interview with Big E, where they broached a plethora of subjects. One topic which piqued interest was Big E’s idiosyncratic interpretation of the term ‘meaty man’.
The ex-World Champion from WWE explained, “In my perspective, a meaty man is just a muscular man, though it’s not only about physical strength. It is equally about one’s frame of mind. What I really am interested in are individuals with robust physiques. This could mean someone who is powerfully built or someone who has a bit of excess weight, and that’s perfectly fine. However, the crux of the matter is having the mentality of a sturdy person, an individual who isn’t easily displaced but, on the contrary, is one who displaces others. I believe this concept could apply to both sexes. In essence, it’s all about being rugged and tenacious. Whether you operate chiefly on the ground or you are partial to a bit of aerial work, none of that matters.”
Continuing on, he noted, “There are plenty of larger gents who also enjoy jumping off things, and that’s completely acceptable. It’s all about the mindset of being rugged, like I am determined to hit the gym, bulk up, and ensure that my presence is felt, that I leave an imprint every time I move, that gravity knows my name. That’s a meaty man for you. A match between two such individuals is what I call a meaty man match. And what I look forward to is the impact, the resounding sound that emanates when these two meet.”
