In the climactic main event of the AEW WrestleDream 2024, Bryan Danielson conceded the AEW World Heavyweight Championship to Jon Moxley. A major precondition of this clash was that Danielson would have had to bid adieu to his full-time wrestling career if he ended up losing the match.

Post the much-anticipated match, Danielson fell victim to an ambush attack by the Blackpool Combat Club. This attack resulted in his abrupt exit from the television screen as he is now anticipated to undertake a neck surgery.

With his recent retirement from full-time wrestling, Danielson, also known as The American Dragon, has his eyes set on a part-time work schedule.

The insider news from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter implies that Danielson is planning to go for an MRI scan to evaluate the state of his neck. The MRI scan he underwent previously revealed extensive damage to his neck.

Meltzer disclosed, “What happens next depends on if the level of damage is the same as it was or if it has worsened, and if not, by how much. The hope is that he won’t need surgery and can heal up strong enough with stem cell treatment therapy. But if not, he’ll have to undergo surgery. If or when he can return to the ring depends on how well all of this goes.”

At the moment, it remains uncertain when Danielson will make a comeback to AEW television.
