During her conflict-building period with Mercedes Mone leading up to AEW Grand Slam: Australia, Harley Cameron presented the audience with Puppet Mone.
This puppet became an annoying factor for Mercedes, as she felt mocked by Harley’s use of it.
In a recent episode of the “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, Harley disclosed that the puppet’s concept was actually conceived by Mercedes herself.
In Harley’s words, “I shared a post on Twitter saying, ‘Me and Earl are on Cameo.’ It seems like everyone at work wondered, ‘Are you a puppeteer?’ The idea was actually Mercedes’. I can clearly recall our discussion where she asked, ‘Can you make a puppet that looks like me?’ It’s interesting as the same thought crossed my mind too. I personally crafted the puppet. I procured the puppet parts, but for the hair and outfit, I need to credit Chris, our talented seamstress. He crafted the puppet’s attire with some of my old clothes that I gave him. Thus, Mini Mone came to life and has been loved by the audience since then.”
Despite the puppet, Mercedes managed to have the upper hand at AEW Grand Slam: Australia. She triumphed over Harley to hold onto the TBS Championship.
