World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER discussed his professional relationship with Vince McMahon in WWE while interacting on “The Ariel Helwani Show.”

On working with Vince McMahon:
“I served under Vince for a span of four months, and it was quite an odd work dynamic. The delineation of tasks was baffling, and it was hard to decipher what was required of me. Normally, I don’t encounter such issues. Eventually, everything fell in place for me – timing played an instrumental role in my career surge. I was at the right location at the right time. I’ve always been more aligned with Hunter throughout my WWE career. My directives usually come from him,” said GUNTHER.
On the puzzling phase in his life:
“Personally, I find it challenging to go along with things that do not make logical sense to me. If I find no concrete reason behind actions, I struggle to comply. I tend to give up swiftly. The tendency is, ‘Well, I don’t want to deal with this.’ However, my indifference didn’t reach that extreme. It was merely a confusing phase. I had a couple of fleeting conversations with Vince, and it was tough having a comprehensive talk with him.”
On the peculiar professional exposure:
“It was an outlandish occupational experience. It might be down to cultural differences since NXT operates differently, especially when it comes to providing instructions. The mainstream jobs I took in Germany are as unambiguous as they can get. You’re expected to complete tasks as specified, and if you don’t meet the highest standard, you’re told outright. The work culture is starkly different.”
