Following multiple weeks of persistent attempts, Sami Zayn has finally managed to convince GUNTHER to risk his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This came about after Sami Zayn pushed The Ring General to such an extent that he was provoked into attacking him in the ring’s center.
Earlier this year at WrestleMania XL, Zayn had triumphed over GUNTHER to bag the Intercontinental Championship. He had been persistently making a bid to be the next contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Even after being one of the rare wrestlers to beat GUNTHER in WWE, this year’s King of the Ring still deemed Zayn as undeserving.
During the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, Zayn touched a nerve, claiming that GUNTHER did not request a rematch from Adam Pearce after losing the IC title, instead he chose to retreat and disappear for months. He branded GUNTHER a coward, triggering the champ to burst into a fury, attack him, and ultimately agree to the match after delivering a sleeper and a power bomb.
The anticipated match is scheduled for the upcoming Monday Night RAW episode.
