On a recent episode of “The Gorilla Position” podcast, WWE Superstar GUNTHER shed some light on his perspective towards stipulations and gimmick matches in professional wrestling.
When asked how he felt about participating in a hardcore match, he responded that while he wouldn’t oppose it if necessary, he’s not one to voluntarily ask for a hardcore gimmick like a TLC match. He expressed preference for traditional cage matches, voicing concern that some gimmick match types turn into risk-taking stunts rather than a qualitative wrestling match dictated by the stipulation.
GUNTHER continued, sharing his views on a cage match: He’d prefer to focus on its logical usage for the understanding of the audience and building the storyline around it. He indicated that his approach isn’t about performing high-risk stunts for the sake of creating a spectacle, and that each performer should decide their own approach.
A separate interview saw WWE Superstar The Miz speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri for SHAK Wrestling. He articulated his wish to lock horns with John Cena once more during Cena’s retirement tour in 2025. The Miz expressed excitement over re-entering the ring with Cena, and hopes younger wrestling talents get the chance to experience Cena’s energy firsthand in the ring.
